Welcome to Bagolyvár
In 1913, after having taken over his restaurant in the City Park, Károly Gundel decided to open another restaurant of family-style next door for the visitors of the Budapest Zoo. A large wooden building occupied the area where owls may have lived once - that is where the name Owl's Castle originates from.
In its centennial the Owl's Castle continues to be a restaurant of family atmosphere reminding us of the Sunday lunches or dinners with our grandmothers and mothers while it offers the traditional values of Hungarian hospitality.
